Gel filtration (also called size-exclusion chromatography or SEC) uses a porous resin material to separate molecules based onsize (i.e., physical exclusion). ... By contrast, affinity chromatography(also called affinity purification) makes use of specific binding interactions between molecules.

An eqilibrium between a macromolecule and a small molecule for which it has a high biological specificity and has high affinity-affinity chromatography.

An equilibrium between aliquid phase inside and outside a porous structure or molecular sieve- exclusion chromatography

Affinity chromatography is a particular variant of chromatography in which the unique biological specificity of the analyte and ligand interaction is utilized for the separation .

In exclusion chromatography separation is based mainly on exclusion effects ,such as differences in molecular size &/or shapes or in charge .
