Absorbance

Absorbance is a measure of the amount of light absorbed by a sample as a beam of light passes through it. It is exponentially inversely related to transmittance.

Adsorbent

A solid substance used to collect solute molecules from a liquid or gas

Adsorption

The process by which a solid holds molecules of a gas or liquid or solute as a thin film.

Adsorption chromatography

Adsorption chromatography mode of separation in which a solute or sample components are attracted to a solid surface, the stationary phase, by adsorption retention forces, the mobile phase may be a gas or liquid.

Adsortion chromatography

Argentation

The incorporation of silver nitrate into the adsorbent enhance the separation of compound differentiating in number and position of double bonds.

Affinity

It is the degree to which a substance tends to combine with another .

analysis

Detailed examination of the elements or structure of something.

example:Examining blood in a lab to discover all of its components is an example ofanalysis

Analytical technique

An analytical technique is a method that is used to determine the concentration of a chemical compound or chemical element.

Ascending Chromatography

when the development of the paper is done by allowing the solvent to travel up the paper it is known as ascending technique

Ascending descending chromatography

This is a combination of ascending and descending type.only the length of separation is increased by using a combination of techniques.First ascending takes place followed by descending development.
